VJ Technologies' ECAT Wins a 2010 VISION Award

VJ Technologies, Inc. announces that it has been awarded a 2010 SMT VISION Award in the category of Packages/Passives/Connectors for its Edge Connector Assembly Tool (ECAT) Reflow System. The award was presented to the company during a Monday, April 5, 2010 ceremony that took place in the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas before the start of APEX 2010.

VJ Technologies’ ECAT automatic straddle mount reflow system is designed specifically to deliver precise, controlled heat to connector leads while protecting the connector body and PCB.

Proprietary SierraMate™ Windows®-based software provides an easy-to-use “1-2-3-Go” graphical user interface, featuring intuitive programming, automatic profiling and data collection for product traceability. The ECAT is “production ready” for high-volume assembly of straddle mount connectors.

The ECAT has been developed for volume assembly of straddle mount connectors, and high-efficiency convection heaters deliver energy to the leads. The unique, high response model allows precise profiles at very high throughput, while avoiding the risk of surface damage to the PCB.

The ECAT incorporates unique features such as Advanced Auto Profile that, together with precision indexing and automated data/event logging, account for its continuous productivity.
