Everett Charles Technologies Introduces New Automotive and Industrial Catalog

Dec 12, 2011

Everett Charles Technologies (ECT) announces the release of its new Automotive and Industrial Catalog for Asia, the Americas and Europe. The new catalog features complete product descriptions and applications for ECT’s general purpose replaceable and non-replaceable probes as well as step, switch, high current/high-frequency and battery probes.

General Purpose - Replaceable Probes are designed for typical automotive board test and standard continuity test, contacting industry norm test points such as leads, vias and pads. The Threaded Probe/Receptacle is the most secure method and typically is used in wire harness testing to guarantee retention of probe in receptacle during test of automobile or aircraft harnesses.

General Purpose - Non-Replaceable Probes are designed for industrial applications where typical probe life meets or exceeds those of the end-use product. A non-replaceable probe is designed to be permanently fixed in the retention plate and not removed without breaking the electrical connection or damaging the retention plate.

“Step” or “Hat” Probes use a “step” to control the distance of the probe tip’s entry into a wire harness connector housing.

Switch Probes are designed primarily for “presence/electrical” test applications such as detecting the absence or presence of contacts within a wire harness connector.

High Current & High-Frequency Probes are designed for powered functional testing of connectors, wire harnesses, modules and other devices drawing up to 50A.

Battery Probes typically are contained in modules where consistent, long-life, low-resistance, compliant electrical and mechanical connections are required.
