DEK, the world’s leading provider of screen printing equipment and processes for diverse industries, today announced it has signed a contract with The Indium Corporation for its print platform, Horizon 01iX. The order for the print platform was finalised on the second day of Productronica 2011 in Munich.
Indium Corporation, which has factories located in the UK, USA, China, Singapore and South Korea, is a premier materials supplier to the global electronics, semiconductor, solar, thin film, and thermal management markets.
The company will use DEK’s Horizon 01iX for the development, testing and qualification of solder paste. In order to allow Indium Corporation to rise to the challenges of increasing miniaturisation and accuracy in printing, the print platform includes ProActiv, which energises the solder paste in contact with the squeegee blade. This process increases the aperture fill to transform solder paste transfer efficiency, delivering immediate improvements in quality, yield and throughput.
The Horizon 01iX also includes Over Top Snuggers (OTS), which secure the printed circuit boards firmly in place ready for processing. The flexible technology is designed to ensure high quality printing for enhanced end-of-line yield.
Ross Berntson, VP of sales, marketing and technical support at Indium Corporation comments, “Both DEK and Indium have a long history of supplying to the global electronics market, so it is great to combine our expertise. With the Horizon 01iX print platform, Indium will be able to further increase the quality of products and services we can offer our customers.”
Peland Koh, Director of electronics assembly business at DEK said, “Signing the contract with Indium formed part of an extremely successful Productronica 2011 for DEK. We are looking forward to developing and strengthening our long term partnership with Indium Corporation and collaborating on future projects.”
