Juki Automation Systems, Inc., a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and part of Juki Corporation, announces that Juki hosted its 25,000 unit shipped worldwide breakthrough celebration on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Palace Hotel Tokyo in Japan.

The celebration opened with a welcome speech from Mr. Akira Kiyohara, President of Juki Corporation, followed by a speech from Mr. Hirokazu Nagashima, Managing Director, Senior Executive Director of Juki’s Electronic Assembly Systems Unit, and a congratulatory speech from special guest Mr. Victor Wu, Chairman of GOODWIN TECHNOLOGY GROUP.

Juki Automation Systems’ President and CEO Bob Black commented on this milestone, “Juki shipped its 25,000th machine in March of this year to become only the third manufacturer of placement equipment to reach this figure. This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all Juki employees around the world who helped achieve this milestone.”

Approximately 200 of Juki’s customers, executives, employees and vendors from around the globe attended the celebration. JAS, Inc. hosted David Lane, Chief Technology Officer of OnCore Manufacturing Systems, Scott Fillebrown, President of ACD, Francisco Saralegui, SMT Manager of Newsan, and Adriån Lamandia, CEO of Novatech, as its guests of honor at the celebration.

Mr. Fumio Hoki, Vice President, Material & Procurement Division at MITSUMI ELECTRIC CO., LTD., gave a toast after the Kagami Biraki Barrel Opening Ritual. During the ritual, Juki executives and honored customers, including OnCore Manufacturing Systems’ CTO David Lane, broke open the lids of sake casks with wooden hammers. Dinner was followed by a special Tsugaru Samisen performance. The Japanese Samisen is a three-stringed banjo style instrument. Additionally, the Lion’s mask dance, or Shishimai, was performed to bring happiness and dispel any misfortune. The celebration ended with a closing speech from Mr. Satohiro Hama, Juki’s Executive Operating Officer, Deputy Senior Executive Director of Business Unit.
