AIM Metals & Alloys LP, a global leader in the manufacture of solder assembly materials, announces that its Montréal facility has been awarded ISO 14001:2004 certification in Environmental Management Systems. ISO® (International Organization for Standardization) 14001:2004 is an internationally recognized set of standards that sets out a framework for an organization to develop and implement policies and objectives for setting up an effective environmental management system. The granting of this certification demonstrates that AIM has identified and effectively controlled the environmental approach and impact of their internal management systems, perpetually improving environmental sustainability.
As stated on ISO.org, “When products and services conform to international standards, consumers can have confidence that they are safe, reliable and of good quality… International standards on air, water and soil quality, emissions of gases and radiation and environmental aspects of products contribute to efforts to preserve the environment and the health of citizens.” Meeting the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004, represents a symbolic step for AIM in actively working towards reducing the company’s environmental impact.
“At AIM we understand that our products and manufacturing processes have an impact on the environment,” said David Suraski, Executive Vice President, Assembly Materials Division. “We are thoroughly committed to making a positive difference by engaging in environmental responsibility and sustainability.”
