Educating Policy Makers on Top Industry Concerns Focus of IPC Capitol Hill Day 2013

Apr 23, 2013

IPC members will have an opportunity to join their fellow manufacturers on Capitol Hill to educate policy makers on IPC’s mission; advocate the need for pro-manufacturing initiatives and discuss concerns regarding legislation, policies and regulations, during IPC Capitol Hill Day 2013, June 19–20 in Washington, D.C.

Capitol Hill Day gives top executives from our member companies face-to-face time with members of Congress and the Administration to advocate for our industry’s priority issues,” said John Hasselmann, IPC vice president of government relations. “It is important for policy makers in Washington to hear directly from their constituents on issues such as export controls, conflict minerals regulations and tax reform.”

Mikel Williams, president of Constellation Management Group, LLC and chairman of the IPC Government Relations Committee, echoes Hasselmann’s comments.  “It’s vital for legislators to understand our industry’s concerns. IPC members who attend Capitol Hill Day can help ensure that Congress will continue to hear our voice on the critical issues that affect IPC-member companies and the U.S. electronics industry as a whole.”

During the two-day event, participants will also network with other industry colleagues at events during the National Association of Manufacturer’s (NAM) 2013 Manufacturing Summit on June 20.

IPC member companies are strongly encouraged to send a representative to IPC’s Capitol Hill Day. For more information or to register, visit www.ipc.org/CHD. Due to scheduling deadlines for special events held in conjunction with NAM’s Manufacturing Summit, IPC cannot accept registrations after May 30, 2013.
