Bentek, a manufacturer of a broad range of OEM power distribution products for the residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV marketplaces, has successfully integrated the Bentek proprietary Power Economizer into the Bentek Residential Rapid Shutdown System (RSS).
“The Power Economizer is a Bentek proprietary designed printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), and when integrated into the Bentek RSM, reduces power consumption by more than 50 percent,” said John H. Buckley, Executive of Sales and Marketing at Bentek. “As the Bentek RSS continues to gain customer acceptence and more southern states adopt and enforce NEC 2014 690.12 Rapid Shutdown requirements, Bentek is seeing customers benefit from the Power Economizer when temperatures soar on residential rooftops. The Bentek Power Economizer integrated into the RSS ensures our customers that the Bentek RSM can be installed in this type of environment and function properly.”
The Bentek RSS is a cost-effective and easy-to-install universal stand-alone solution that has been tested and approved by some of the largest residential string inverter manufactures and installers in the world. It includes two components: The Rapid Shutdown Controller (RSC) installed at the service entrance and the Rapid Shutdown Module (RSM) installed on the residential roof top within 10 ft of the PV array.
