STI Electronics, Inc., a full service organization providing training resources, analytical/failure analysis, prototyping, and small-to-medium volume PCB assembly, announces Patti Gander’s recognition as a Distinguished Professional by Women of Distinction Magazine (http://womenofdistinction.net/). Gander will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Exiting the US Marines as an Electronics Technician in 1982, Ms. Gander moved back to upstate New York where she grew up to begin her career in electronics working for Coleco Industries. Working on their assembly line, she eventually worked her way up to becoming a Quality Technician for the video game company. Having since acquired positions with various other corporations, including Godfrey Engineering, Reflectone, Innovative Technology, Eaton Corporation, Aquacal/Autopilot, EEI Manufacturing Services and Business Essential Skills Training, Patti is now the Florida Training Center Manager for STI Electronics, Inc., headquartered out of Madison, Alabama.

Residing in Florida, Ms. Gander is working to expand the company's brand, primarily overseeing business development. Also responsible for product development, which includes developing technical and business training programs, she spends a good portion of her day interacting with the manufacturing community, and attending focus groups and professional development meetings. For the past two years, she also has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida, teaching courses in Organizational Assessment, and has previously taught courses in Principles of Management, HR Management and Strategic Management.

I have always enjoyed seeing products being built,” Ms. Gander said about working in manufacturing her entire career. “The process is like a big jigsaw puzzle and you must find the most efficient and effective way to put it together. Moving into the teaching side of the industry was a natural move for me since I have always approached my job from the perspective of teaching.”

Ms. Gander also is active with various organizations, including serving as Director of Training and Education for the Surface Mount Technology Association, serving on a STEM advisory board for a local high school in Middleton, and serving as a new member of APIC’s local chapter. APIC is a professional association for Operations and Supply Chain Management.

A graduate of the University of South Florida with a BS in Business, Ms. Gander also completed her MBA, followed by her MS in Management. She is a Certified Production Technician and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Since 1982, STI Electronics, Inc. (STI) has been the premier full service organization for training, consulting, laboratory analysis, prototyping, and small-to-medium volume PCB assembly in the electronics industry. STI also produces a complete line of solder training kits and training support products. For more information, visit www.stielectronicsinc.com.
