Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, is pleased to announce that Southwestern Industries, Inc. has purchased and installed an ECOSELECT 1 selective soldering machine. The ECOSELECT 1 requires less than 3 m² of space, allowing it to fit optimally into cell production environments.
In all process steps the semiautomatic ECOSELECT 1 system uses the same successful and proven Ersa selective soldering technology as the large Ersa VERSAFLOW systems without compromising quality or accuracy. The high precision servo gantry system, and electromagnetic pumping system, together with top- and bottom-side preheating, provides the highest capability and best repeatability.
Craig Henning, Southwestern Industries‘ Production Supervisor commented, “The introduction of the ERSA system has enabled Southwestern Industries to eliminate several steps in the PCB assembly process including masking, caging and cleaning.“ Also, he noted more consistent solder joint quality, signifigantly higher production throughput, as well as the ability to automate the soldering process on both sides of the PCBA.
Since 1963, Southwestern Industries, Inc. has been an industry leader in innovative products for machinists' productivity. The company’s engineering, manufacturing and corporate headquarters are housed in 130,000 ft2 facilities in Southern California. Southwestern Industries employs a large field organization of factory-direct sales, service and management personnel throughout North America. For more information about Kurtz Ersa North America, visit www.ersa.com.
