Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, is pleased to announce that it has installed a Smartflow 2020 selective soldering system at Hallmark Nameplate, Inc.’s ESD-controlled manufacturing facility in Florida. Hallmark Nameplate offers through-hole, surface mount, or mixed-PCB assembly services. With universal pallet fastening, the Smartflow 2020 will compliment Hallmark Nameplate’s prototyping, rework services and modifications of existing builds.
“The ERSA Smartflow 2020 has helped our business tremendously due to the expedient manner the product now reaches our customers,” commented Kurt Stura, VP of Operations at Hallmark Nameplate. “The ease of programming the assemblies has cut our prep time in half. Minimum rework has increased our quality and efficiency of the product by 75 percent. I have used several other selective solder machines in the past and this is most accurate and efficient machine for low to medium volume production.”
Ersa’s Smartflow 2020 requires less than 3 m² of space, thus fitting optimally into cell production environments. With the Smartflow, Ersa finally closes the gap from its high-end Versaflow platform to an entry level machine. In all process steps the automatic Smartflow system uses the same successful and proven Ersa Selective Soldering Technology as the large Ersa Versaflow systems without compromising quality and accuracy. The Smartflow can handle PCB sizes of up to 508 x 508 mm [20” x 20”].
