Multi-award-winning placement equipment manufacturer, Europlacer, is expanding its customer service infrastructure across all global territories though a programme of support staff recruitment and internal promotions to create specialist teams.
With the recognition of three consecutive Service Excellence Awards under its belt, Europlacer is not resting on its laurels. David Fenton, Group Customer Support Manager knows that timely, effective support is expected: “It’s not a luxury. A reputation for failing support undermines customer confidence and loyalty. Other suppliers in our sector are experiencing that right now. In contrast, we make our service a competitive differentiator, which is why we continue to invest in support resources.”
Ten new service personnel have already joined Europlacer in the UK, France, Italy, China and the USA. And a further vacancy is soon to be filled in Germany. All the roles are customer-facing support engineering positions, some designed to fulfil a new Europlacer strategy of forming teams with specialist expertise.
So far, three existing Europlacer staff have been promoted to build a dedicated expertise core: the newly-created posts include Senior Applications Engineer International, Integration & Training Engineer, and Product Specialist, all of which are key components of a collaborative team mandated to deliver superior support and knowledge transfer to Europlacer customers worldwide.
“It has been quite a time of expansion,” declares Fenton. “Our internal promotions are part of a new strategy that focuses on our in-house training endeavours and provides our customers with the high level of expertise they need when critical situations arise, or when advanced training is required.”
Rounding off the flurry of new appointments is the creation of the new post of Pre-Sales Support Engineer. Fenton explains the concept: “The primary role is sales support leading up to installation, covering product benchmarking and demonstrations as a strategic support resource for our sales teams in the critical time around a potential sale. This remit will extend to address the entire Europlacer line offering from printer to AOI.”
With business growth continuing and the Europlacer order book expanding, Fenton expects the support recruitment programme to continue: “Watch this space,” he says.
