Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, today announced that it was awarded a 2016 Global Technology Award in the category of Soldering – Selective for its VERSAFLEX-Ultra. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 ceremony that took place at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL during SMTA International.
Ersa presents the future of selective soldering technology – The newly developed VERSAFLEX soldering module offers unlimited flexibility, productivity and uncompromising quality – two solder pots, either y- and x-variable or z-variable, equipped with different solder and different solder nozzles, can work in parallel.
With software version 5.4, the soldering pots are able to move freely in x-, y- and z-direction. Each soldering pot is completely independent and has no y- or x-dependencies to the other one. An anti-collision software ensures the free movement of the servo-driven axis system of the soldering pots.
The optimized control of this mechanical masterpiece is supported by the new CAD Assistant 5.0, which automatically defines the ideal route and gives a recommendation on the preferred direction of the PCB feeding. With the additional software 5.4 the y-x-connection of the soldering pots is disengaged and they can move process-optimized within the soldering/working area.
Albrecht Beck, President of Kurtz Ersa NA commented, “This award confirms once again that we are meeting the needs of our consumers with these new products. Kurtz Ersa continues to innovate and optimize products to meet the needs of electronic manufacturing consumers.“
Premiering in 2005, the Global Technology Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly.
