Leading Dallas CM Installs High-Performance Rework from Ersa

Sep 26, 2018

Kurtz Ersa Inc., a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, today announced that Precision Technology Inc. has purchased an Ersa HR 550 Hybrid Rework system. The rework system was successfully installed at the company’s 55,000 ft.2 facility in Plano, TX in the Dallas technology corridor. Precision Technology offers cost-competitive, high-quality and quick-turn prototypes to mid and high-volume manufacturing services.

Jeff Diora, President of Precision Technology, commented, “The ERSA HR550 automated rework system offers us more flexibility to accommodate more complex rework projects maintaining component integrity.  The software is very user-friendly and allows more control over the reflow process. This helps us ensure the safety of temperature sensitive components and PCBs under rework consideration. We are now able to fulfill  more complex rework projects from our customers for their R&D activities. This will help improve our efficiency and quality of rework.“

The HR 550 features a 1,500W high performance hybrid heating element to desolder and solder SMT components up to 70 x 70 mm. A 2,400 W infrared bottom heater in three heating zones guarantees homogeneous bottom-side preheating of the complete assembly. The system is designed for the highest requirements in terms of precision and process safety in electronic assembly rework applications.
