Western Electronics LLC, a contract manufacturer founded in 1978, with operations located in Oregon, Colorado and Idaho, has grown moderately during the past 10 years and now is experiencing broader growth under the leadership of Lyle Jordan, Western Electronics' president and chief operating officer.

According to Jordan, earlier this year Western Electronics announced its new eSCM Solutions initiative to expand its contract manufacturing to also provide Supply Chain Management solutions and services.

"Our mission is to focus on achieving customer results through providing complete Supply Chain Management (SCM) execution," said Jordan. "eSCM Solutions delivers all aspects of Supply Chain Management to OEMs, including Customer Relationship Management, Supply Demand Network, Order Processing, Manufacturing and Distribution services."

According to Steve Hollinshead, senior vice president of sales and marketing, 2001 was a successful transition year and 2002 is expected to provide broader growth.

"Western's customers benefit from our vertically integrated contract manufacturing and eSCM Solutions(TM). Customer interface is through our experienced direct sales executives as they build unique partnership relationships and solutions," said Hollinshead. "As a result of our growth within our current market channels, we are implementing our next phase of expanding geographically with new sales offices and appointments in Boise, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, Portland, San Jose, and Seattle."

Contract manufacturing solutions offered by Western Electronics include: complex printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), with through-hole (THT) and advanced surface-mount technologies (SMT), mechanical and molded cable, harnessing, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, total system assembly (box build) and integration, painting, silk screening, powder coating, pad printing, EMI/RFI shielding, and sheet metal fabrication.

Manufacturing and systems-integration services include: Quick production turnaround for one-stop manufacturing, higher production volumes on a time- critical basis, complementary processes, vertically-integrated capabilities including design for manufacturability (DFM), prototyping of volume products and continued partnerships with established and emerging OEM's.
