Thailand-based PCB assembler SVI Plc is projecting revenue of $120 million (about 5.1 billion baht) within two years, thanks in part to an increase in capacity following the months-early opening of a second factory, according to a report by the Bangkok Post (online edition, February 28, 2003). The company's managing director, Mr. Poe Lothongkam, reportedly said that SVI, formerly known as Semiconductor Ventures International, is sure of attaining no less than 10% revenue growth in 2003, to $82 million. For 2002, the firm reported revenue of $74 million (gross profit: $10.9 million), up from revenue of $67 million for 2001 and $50 million in 2000, the Bangkok Post reported. Mr. Lothongkam was cited as saying that SVI is targeting sales revenue of at least $150 million over the next three-and-a-half years and also aims to become an original design manufacturer.
