In 2025, Heller Industries proudly marks its 65th anniversary, a milestone that reflects our enduring commitment to innovation and customer success. For more than six decades, we have been at the forefront of technological advancements, helping shape the future of electronics assembly and semiconductor packaging.
Our Journey: From 1960 to Today
Our story began in 1960, shortly after the introduction of the first commercially available printed circuit boards in the U.S. Guided by our founder, Martin Heller, we quickly earned international recognition for our lead-forming machines, which processed essential components like resistors and transistors.
As Surface Mount Technology (SMT) began to replace Through-Hole Technology, Heller Industries evolved. Under the leadership of David Heller, we pioneered the research, development, and manufacturing of reflow ovens for automated soldering.
In 1988, we introduced our first convection reflow oven. Just three years later, we launched our first vertical curing oven, and soon after, our first formic acid oven—making Heller one of the earliest innovators in thermal solutions for advanced electronics assembly.
What Keeps Us Ahead?
Innovation and customer service power us to be a world leader in what we do. Since 1990, we’ve earned more than 30 service awards from global clients and innovation awards from respected industry organizations such as SMTNet and Frost & Sullivan.
Our global footprint reflects our dedication to supporting customers wherever they are. In 2000, we opened our first factory in Korea, followed by a second in China in 2002. Today, Heller is building its third factory in India, and maintains local sales and service offices across Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, Oceania, and Africa.
Powered by People
At the heart of Heller Industries are our people. We’ve grown to over 150 engineers worldwide, with 25% of our team dedicated to R&D. When the brightest minds come together, breakthroughs happen. In 2021, we achieved our highest sales revenue to date, and in the following year, we introduced our award-winning short cycle vacuum reflow oven.
Looking Ahead
To date, Heller has delivered 370+ vacuum ovens and 1,000+ vertical curing ovens worldwide. As we celebrate our 65th anniversary, we continue our passion for relentless improvement and innovation, with a purpose to make tomorrow’s technology happen.
