Teradyne Connection Systems Achieves ISO 14001 Certification at Facilities in China and Malaysia

Nashua, NH � October 4, 2004 � Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER), Connection Systems Division, the industry leader in high-performance connection systems, today announced that its manufacturing operations in Shanghai, China and Penang, Malaysia recently received certification to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard.

The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), an independent certifying agency, conducted an audit of Teradyne Connection Systems' environmental management systems at its Asia-based plants and issued the ISO 14001 certifications in July, 2004. All of the Teradyne Connection Systems� manufacturing facilities, including locations in New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ireland and Mexico, are now certified to the ISO 14001 standard.
