New Trio of Precision Low-Voltage Vishay Siliconix Analog Switching ICs

Feb 24, 2006

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) released a trio of precision low-voltage monolithic CMOS analog switching ICs that combine a wide voltage range, low leakage, and tight on-resistance matching for precision signal switching and routing.

Released today were an 8-channel analog multiplexer (DG9051), a dual 4-channel analog multiplexer (DG9052), and a triple 2-channel single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch (DG9053). The new devices are intended for use in end products including cell phones, communication systems, modems, data acquisition systems, automated test equipment, and automotive systems.

All three devices feature a wide input voltage range of 2.7 V to 12 V for single-supply implementations and +/-2.7 V to +/-6 V for dual-supply implementations. Built on Vishay's proprietary high-density process, the new devices offer the advantage of bi-directional signal and rail-to-rail analog signal handling. These characteristics, along with the wide voltage range, offer significant flexibility to circuit designers.

The CMOS logic-compatible control inputs of the DG9051, DG9052, and DG9053 have guaranteed 2-V logic high/0.8-V logic low when operating from a single 5-V or dual +/-5-V power supplies, and 2.4-V logic high/0.8-V logic low with V + = 12 V power supplies.

On-resistance ranges as low as 30 ohms, depending on the power-supply configuration, with guaranteed low on-resistance matching as low as 5 ohms.

Packaged in the TSSOP-16 case, the devices have lead (Pb)-free terminations and are pin-compatible with 74HC4051/2/5. They operate over a temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.

Samples and production quantities of the new analog switches/multiplexers are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery in 1,000-piece quantities is $0.86.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH), is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, rectifiers, transistors, and optoelectronics) and selected ICs, and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transducers). Vishay's components can be found in products manufactured in a very broad range of industries worldwide. Vishay is headquartered in

Malvern, Pa., and has operations in 17 countries employing over 25,000 people. Vishay can be found on the Internet at http://www.vishay.com.
