Essemtec, a leading manufacturer of surface mount technology production equipment, announces that it will display HLX8100, a high-performance placement system for flexible SMT manufacturing, in booths A5-277 and A5-278 at the upcoming Productronica 2007 exhibition and conference scheduled to take place November 13-16, 2007 at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Munich, Germany.
Small single-piece volumes, a large product variety and frequent product changes characterize today's SMT manufacturing. The HLX8100 placement system fulfils this set of requirements in an optimal way. It features a feeder capacity of 192 x 8 mm, intelligent programmable feeders and can accommodate speeds up to 11,250 cph. Additionally, an alternative model, HLX8200, is available. This model features two heads and accommodate speeds up to 22,000 cph.
The SMD pick and place machines of the HLX series are designed for high-mix/high-speed production. HLX8100 features quick and easy programming and changeover without downtime. The robust construction and the use of linear motors for the travel axes guarantee reliability and highest precision. Due to the wide component range and the large feeder capacity, even complex PCBs can be populated in one run. The fixed PCB position during placement guarantees precision.
The machine combines a broad component range with high-placement performance and flexibility. Additionally, it can be changed over during operation without standstill. The on-the-fly setup modification ensures maximum machine load even with small productions series.
Linear drives are maintenance-free, fast and precise. They position the placement heads precisely in the X- and Y-axes. During placement, the board is fixed. Additionally, the "Collect & Place"method enables high-placement performance. HLX8100 comes equipped with one placement head with four vacuum nozzles.
The Cognex Vision (SMD4) enables precise and fast alignment, and checking of components. With its unique transparent lighting technology, illumination is independent of component type and image analysis is extremely reliable.
All feeders are exchangeable and refillable during operation. The placement system is dynamically optimized immediately after every feeder change.
