PROMATION Enhances Vertical Buffer Station

Pleasant Prairie, WI � February 4, 2008 � PROMATION announces that it has enhanced the SCBL-99 15 Vertical Buffer station with new software.

The SCBL-99 is a 15 slot vertical buffer that is designed to provide a cost effective means to control line flow. This station can handle PCBs up to 18" in width and 20" in length. Current modes of operation include LIFO, FIFO or PASS through conveyor. The all belt buffer design reduces the footprint, minimizing floor space.

PROMATION recently enhanced the system�s software by adding in a Hold and Release timer function and System Status Monitoring menu. The hold and release feature allows engineering to select a desired minimum buffer time before release (transfer to the next process). This feature allows for better control over varying line flows or may be used to properly cool PCBs before final inspection.

The new System Status monitoring screen shows the operator the current status of the station, i.e., buffer slots taken/available, pitch selection, mode status (LIFO, FIFO or PASS), SMEMA flow control and more.
