"Customers in the food, water and petrochemical industries require LIMS systems that reduce ramp-up time and increase efficiency to help them address increasing regulatory requirements and budget scrutiny," said Richard Begley, Ph.D., president, Analytical Sciences, PerkinElmer, Inc. "As part of PerkinElmer's EcoAnalytix(TM) initiative, we have worked with customers in each of these industries to develop targeted solutions that reduce the cycle time for delivering quality results to their data consumers."
PerkinElmer's new LABWORKS packages simplify data management by providing an integrated suite of software applications, interfaces and reports based on the fundamental business needs of laboratories in these markets. The solutions also integrate with PerkinElmer's chromatography, inorganic and materials characterization instruments to build on the Company's EcoAnalytix initiative, a collaborative problem-solving initiative that creates application-based solutions to improve business ecosystems, while supporting local, regional and global initiatives that contribute to a healthier ecosystem worldwide.
LABWORKS foodLIMS(TM) is designed to integrate with tracing software to support compliance with regulatory requirements including the BioTerrorism Act of 2002 which requires food and beverage producers to trace their products both backward into the supply chain and forward through the distribution system. LABWORKS waterLIMS(TM) interfaces with Environmental Enforcement Data Management Systems (EEDMS) to help ensure compliance with environmental regulations. LABWORKS processLIMS(TM) interfaces with refineries' Plant Information Management Systems (PIMS) to ensure optimal efficiency in data reporting.
All three packages include a basic service package with installation and training. Each package can be further adapted to specific customer needs with additional productivity software and services.
