Harvard Engineering was established in 1993 and is now one of Europe’s major designers and manufacturers of electronic ballasts and control gear. The company is the supplier for the majority of all of the leading commercial, retail and emergency lighting manufacturers in the UK and Europe, as well the US and Far Eastern markets.
Harvard Engineering was the world’s first ballast manufacturer to gain ENEC approval for HID ballasts. Based in a manufacturing plant in Leeds, England, its in-house facilities incorporate one of the best equipped research and development labs in the lighting industry. The flexible manufacturing lines can be used to produce custom ranges, as well as custom built products to specific customer requirements.
Harvard Engineering is growing fast. Earlier this year, the company identified the need to replace its stencil printer. It required a reliable, state-of-the-art printer to ensure that throughput was maintained to the highest standard.
Engineer Nick Kendall was given the task of evaluating the market. Europlacer invited Harvard Engineering to its open house in July 2009, which Kendall attended. It was clear that, technically, the Speedprint SP700avi was the right machine and Kendall was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and organization at Europlacer.
Kendall advised Martin Baum, Financial Director for Harvard Engineering, that the SP700avi was the best solution for them. Looking at Speedprint’s history, he could see that this was a healthy company that he was more than willing to invest with.
The SP700avi stencil printer combines Speedprint’s commitment to high performance and reliability with outstanding value. The system has been designed to cope with the rigors of high-volume SMT production, while incorporating the flexibility needed in high-mix, quick product set-up and changeover environments.
