Visitors had the opportunity to tour more than 1000 sq m at the symposium, with over 20 manufacturers and product specialists available for individual consultations. Topics such as dispensing and cleaning technologies were emphasized during the symposium.
Presentations, case studies and practical demonstrations were held during the three-day symposium. Attendees were invited to attend presentations given by key speakers as follows: Uwe Geisler, General Manager and Head of Sales at SmartTec gave a presentation on “ROI – The Pivotal Key Figure,” and Volker Linde, Head of Quality and Production at Hörmann IMG GmbH presented “The Right Pick-and-Place machine for a Flexible EMS Manufacturer.”
A major focus at the event was the SmartFlexLine. At the heart of the line, is the iineo flexible pick-and-place concept from Europlacer. The flexibility of Europlacer’s multi-functional pick-and-place iineo was demonstrated on the line. Quick changeovers were demonstrated, using the set-up help off-line software.
“We welcomed more than 130 customers in three days. This is really a success, especially considering that the industry is still in crisis and that in a few weeks the biggest international tradeshow, Productronica, will take place in Munich. It is also great to see that we are on the right track with our SmartFlexLine concept,” said Uwe Geisler, General Manager and Head of Sales at SmartTec.
