Rehm Thermal Systems, celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, has operated directly in North America for over a decade, and the new Applications Center is a continuation of their ongoing global infrastructure growth plan. With thousands of reflow ovens in operation throughout the world, Rehm remains the only single source for both convection and condensation soldering systems.
“Our new Applications Center allows us an even better opportunity to enable next generation reflow processes for our expanding customer base in North America,” commented John Bashe, Rehm General Manager. “New lead free conversions and complex high thermal mass products will typically stress traditional reflow processes. Rehm has a successful history delivering the kind of advanced thermal solutions necessary to meet such challenges.”
Among the formidable array of equipment and soldering capability on hand in the new facility is The VisionXP‘s residue management system that combines pyrolysis action mechanisms in the preheating and peak range with cold condensation in the cooling zone. Pyrolysis is the thermally induced decomposition of organic compounds. Complex molecules are broken down into simpler substances with the use of high temperatures (500-900°C). This takes place in a largely oxygen free (anaerobic) environment to avoid burning.
In this system, both the amount of liquid residues (drip formation in particular) and that of the crystalline residues are drastically reduced. As a result the VisionXP achieves a higher efficiency than any available system in the market and dramatically increases maintenance intervals..
