Increasing Popularity of MEMS Sensors – Multitest Meets New Requirements in Performance and Cost

May 11, 2010

Rosenheim, - Multitest announces that SensorDynamics, a semi-fabless semiconductor company, is using Multitest equipment for MEMS test and calibration for the entire temperature range. SensorDynamics recently introduced its new 2- and 3-D gyroscope MEMS sensors for a range of applications, from automotive to medicine and high-end consumers.

Addressing cost of test, the Multitest MEMS module enables a five DOF test with just one equipment set-up. The complete test and calibration can be accomplished with only insertion with multiple serial stimuli.

Additionally, high-end MEMS devices typically are susceptible to mechanical stress, as well as to acoustic noise generated by the handler environment. Multitest responded to the enhanced accuracy and noise reduction requirements of SensorDynamics by implementing an innovative heating solution for reducing any noise on the MEMS sensor under test, without impacting the temperature performance.

Multitest provides MEMS equipment for singulated packages, as well as for high parallel strip test handlers. Multitest test modules offer superior performance, efficiency and return on investment.
