Since Miele’s founding in 1899, the company’s motto has been “Forever Better.” This reflects the high standards that Miele applies to its products and towards the company itself: To continuously improve the company to be better. This motto has turned into a philosophy for the management and the employees, and also is established in manufacturing since the leading-edge technology and longevity of Miele devices can be realized only with reliable, high-quality production equipment.
Miele was confident in the quality of SEHO’s machines and equipped its Gütersloh plant with SEHO’s MWS 2300 wave soldering system with assembly and conveyor belts. It took two tower cranes to install the production line because the MWS 2300 had to be transported safely to the manufacturing area on the first floor.
The new manufacturing line, approximately 28 m long, not only incorporates the MWS 2300, but also a transport system for processing soldering frames by SEHO, which has been adapted to Miele’s special production needs. In addition to various assembly islands and backhaul conveyors, the concept encompasses check in and automatic outlet units, soldering frame lift stations, a double-pass flip station, slope lifts, right angle transfer conveyors and tilt stations. Miele now has an ergonomically designed assembly handling system that clearly optimizes the workflow in its Gütersloh plant.
With world-leading nitrogen technology developed by SEHO, the powerful machine equipment and the machine’s modular construction, the MWS 2300 wave soldering system is ideally suited for soldering high-quality PCBs with very high throughput.
A particular innovation of the MWS 2300 is the integrated temperature-controlled convection cooling module. This makes it possible to cool the solder joints below liquidus immediately after soldering. Because of this controlled cooling process, the crystalline structure of the solder joints is verifiably improved, significantly ameliorating the stability of the solder joints.
Miele and SEHO – two companies – one quality standard.
