Description:

This 4-day (including hands-on exercises) “IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies” CIS Certification training class is designed for users to learn and to understand the basics of cable and wire harness fabrication and installation.  It is developed based on the approved comprehensive and technically accurate “IPC/WHMA-A-620A, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies” industry consensus standard.

IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnection and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies.  Classes of products are defined and include criteria for Target, Acceptable, Process Indicator and Defect conditions to support the collection of visual quality acceptability requirements for each class.

Certification demonstrates commitment to customer requirements and greatly facilitates certification to ISO Certification or other quality assurance initiatives. By having earned this portable credential, you'll receive immediate recognition, legitimacy and value throughout the electronics industry.

Students who successfully complete this class will receive the IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS (Certified IPC Application Specialist) certification, which is valid for two (2) years.  Our IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Re-Certification class is a 2-day extensive review of the “IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies” specifications and is designed for students who are required to renew their certification prior to expiration.  Students will participate in an overview and discussion of the “IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies” standard.  When there are revisions and/or amendments to this standard, students will discuss the applicable changes.
