Description: |
This train-the-trainer course is designed to teach students the common PCB Rework and Repair procedures using various methods and tools. The course also includes presentation skills and techniques to help new instructors learn teaching methods and improve presentations. During the 7711 portion of the course, students get plenty of lab time (80% lab time provided) to practice removal and reinstallation of through-hole and surface mount components utilizing solder extractors, thermo-tweezers, thermo-picks, hot air and solder pencil hand-pieces. During the 7721 portion of the course, students will see demonstrations and practice repair methods. Students will learn how to remove and replace lifted pads and traces using hand-held bonding irons. The lab also includes practice on the installation of jumper wires to various surface mount components, repairing of damaged laminate, and removal and rework of conformal coated boards. Duration: 5 days A two-day course is also available for recertification. Course Materials Provided:
The following topics are covered during the course:
Students are required to demonstrate proficiency by scoring a minimum of 80% on the written, soldering and inspection exams for successful completion. The written exam includes 50 questions, 25 open-book and 25 closed-book. Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certified IPC Trainer Certificate valid for 2 years and all the necessary course materials required to conduct the IPC-7711/7721 Application Specialist training. |
