This 2-day. course covers Through-Hole and Surface Mount Technologies including fine pitch devices. The lecture provides a brief overview of SPC, IPC-A-610, ESD precautions, soldering techniques, flux considerations and video presentations on the proper use and maintenance of solder and desolder stations. In the hands on session, each student is provided with a mixed technology board to assemble and an individual work station. With close instructor supervision, students will learn techniques for the installation and removal of through-hole and surface mount components and how to properly evaluate solder joints. The course utilizes JBC, Hakkol and Pace Solder and Desolder Stations, using a variety of different style tips for installation and removal of components.
