Supervisor, SMT Assembly

This position is accountable for the timely and effective assembly of Digi International products and components through the supervision of the SMT Assembly department.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Interprets specifications, instructions, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve work methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains time and work/production records.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Performs activities of workers supervised as necessary.

Position Requirements:

• Related leadership experience in a SMT production environment.
• Programming and maintenance experience with SMT placement (MyData Preferred), AOI, Convection reflow.
• Hand soldering skills.
• Certification to IPC 610 preferred.
• Ability to collect and interpret quality information and charts in support of continuous improvement.
• Must speak, read and write English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Bills of Materials and technical procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
• Knowledge of the standard Microsoft Office and Outlook software applications.
• Basic knowledge of BaaN (ERP system) and Vantive desired.
