| I recieved a pack of sensitive IC's that said they needed to be baked befor certain processes. If I need to do rework, do I have to bake prior to single soldering of these IC's. Or can I just place one as needed by hand with out baking? Any info

Here is what you need to do if you can, Since you want to shporten the bake time you need to increase temp. weigh a board prior to your current bake process (you need very hi resolution scale for this) weigh the same board after current process a

Is baking PCB necessary before solder process?

Currently, we are baking any PCB before process on SMT, the 'reason' is to dry any possible humidity that could be inner the PCB, it does not matter if the PCB is multilayer or not. We bake PCB's at 107C for 4 hrs and the board must be process into n

How are you reworking high mass LED pcb's?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 10 08:17:06 EDT 2017 | philc

Just a random thought, but we had an issue with having to replace faulty LED's on a PCB, and the solution turned out to be pre-baking the LED's prior to build. Just put them in an oven at 40C for 24 hours, then build. Result was zero defective LED's.

Handling a PCB 1. Check your ESD slippers and ESD Strap first before entering the SMT production line 2. A PCB manufactred over 90 days must be stored first on the baking Oven before Production 3. Temperature on the Baking oven must be 125plus and m

Therein lies the issue. Unknown storage conditions before we received the PCBs, date codes just expired (2 weeks), first article is de-lam city! Had a bad feeling about it. Have read some studies showing that there is no linear tie in of visual cha

This has been a problem with new components coming directly from vacuum sealed desiccant packed moisture barrier bags with moisture level cards. We have also baked all boards prior to the BGA rework to ensure no moisture issues were addressed.
