Quad IVc AutoProgram

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 08 13:53:46 EDT 2013 | leemeyer

I copied a program to a floppy and compared that to the files that were in my AP board directory and they are identical. In your board list directory (on your AP machine) look at picks.asc and places.asc and see if there is any good looking data the

To use 2 heads in autoprogram.....each one should be defined in the assembler system. You have to use the option to breakup programs for seperate central controllers if indeed they both have their own computer. The most important thing is each assemb

Quad IVc Main Breaker

Sounds like you may have a z-axis problem. I would check the axis out and run the z rod up and down by hand to see if there is a problem....sticking,sensor/flag broken....etc. Maybe you can unplug the z-axis card and then turn the machine on to see i

That's good info for making sure the motor is good before plugging in and possibly over-current another stepper drive. Do you happen to have pin-outs for the DB15 on the drive board, pot settings and current limit of this drive? We keep several ste

Quad IVc Theta Axis Problem

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 25 05:05:26 EDT 2014 | briantmc

Hi Bobpan, Many thanks for your response. While none of your suggestions were new to me it did get me to thinking and going back to the start again only to find incorrect switch settings on the Theta Driver Card. PROBLEM SORTED! I don't know how

QUAD IVc Laser Alignment throubles

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 11 09:29:59 EST 2015 | bobpan

A reading of 1 almost always means that there is something on the lens or possibly dust inside the unit blocking the laser and tricking the machine into thinking the nozzle is already down when it starts to step from the home 'up' position. Usually i

Thanks Bob. Using a flashlight helps a lot, indeed. Is "re-adjust the angle" just a bend on the LEDs heads (by hand)? I will try. To replace de LEDs, can I use white ones? I believe with the reds I get less light than whites, but maybe the camera ne

Quad IV-c with Y-axis problem

Electronics Forum | Sun Jan 27 17:59:25 EST 2019 | bobpan

The y-axis on that machine is left to right. If this is the axis you are having a problem with....check the motor. I have had to tighten the tension on it before. If you notice you lose steps after running for a while then this is going to be the iss

Another semi-related question: are the four motion cards the same? (except for the dips, I guess). I have a spare one, marked as T motion, all dips to up position. Can I use as X or Y, if I match the dips? The boards look like to have the same comp

Quad IV-c with Y-axis problem

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 01 07:11:07 EST 2019 | bobpan

x and y are the same...just change switches. t and z are the same...just change switches. The voltages on the cards are different(x/y same--t/z same)....i do have a procedure somewhere that allows you to make an x/y card into a t/z card. good luck
