Is %Sn related to de-wetting?, Help!

I'm new in SMT world, and I've got my 1st challenge: I'm having de-wetting issues with a specific IC 160 pins MQFP (six location, failure is random), where one pin has de-wetting (solder reflow OK, and there is evidence of having contact the past and

What caused this reflow issue?

I'd suspect contamination also, possibly from the board supplier. Sr. Tech's post mentioned what looks like a blister on the board, in the upper right of the Q19 photo. This could very well be a contaminate from the PWB fab shop. I've seen similar pr

Thanks a lot for the response 1) there are 8 BGA on this board 6 PBGA, 1 TBGA and 1 ESBGA (metal lid). They are dispersed over the board (approx 11"* 14") 2) Is there a tool to use to understand pitch/bump size and stencil aperture (optimized)? 3) Y

| Has there anyone bold enough to try this in their shops? My cubemate just got through telling me that at his last shop, they had bare copper boards (no HASL, no OSP, no nothing), with minimal solderability problems. | yes, 8 years ago I developed

"Gap" in completed solder joint between lead and pad

Wow, why all the anger? This gap you guys are talking about is measured as "G" in IPC/EIA J-STD-001 (Chunks was there, but she failed to read the fine print). And almost all parts that measure G follow Note 3 which states "Properly wetted fillet s

Don't dink with the profile until you have evidence that the profile has something to do with the problem. Step 1 is a cross-section. Where are the joints breaking? Do the joints show signs of proper wetting & intermetallic formation?
