Am I doing my maths right? 0.005 inches is 0.127mm which is crap for a stencil. Our supplier (laser cut)has an aperture tolerance of 0.005mm (approx. 0.000197 inches).

Sorry, scale division on that would be 0.05mm not 0.02mm. Magnification x24 or thereabouts. Also great for measuring all sort of things on pcbs, stencils etc to see if they come within spec.

A fairly dense brickwall would have 0.020" (0.05mm) spacing

7mm FOV with graduations of 0.05mm. They'll cost around $100 - $150. Fun for measuring other "stuff" as well. Enjoy yourself amigo and you're right, printin' is REAL important.

Does class 2 vs class 3 PCBs effect variance/tolerance in terms of actual positioning of pads/traces? For example, if fiducial is to be at 10mm. What's the tolerance for class 2 vs class 3? [variance allowed] Does panelization have any effect on t

these holes are non-plated they are for light pipes and the tolerances of the PCB manufacturer are 0.05 mm so the light pipes are small for the holes. Do i need to change more than this one file i have or do i need to change NcDrill files as well. As

I have used tooling holes and fiucial registration since the late '80's. In fact if your maximum "vision" tolerance is +/- 0.05mm, your in the same ball-park as locating pins. It is true that fiducial registration is more accurate. However, I woul

Thanks a lot , my application is cryogenic in nature. I am trying to make a Sub-Angstrom resolution Thermal expansion sensor, whose components have been machined out of OHFC copper, and i needed to solder a manganin wire to one of the capcitor plates
