Are we talking: * BGA that you've reballed and want to clean prior to attachment to a circuit board? * BGA that you've attached to a circuit board after correcting something or other? ... and we're talking a water soluble flux or what?

That uis correct if your wanting solderable gold it should be 10-17uinches, but for coantact suchas as switches and card edge 30 is used

SEM to determine thickness and spectrum analyses to determine the metals forming the IMC. This will give you everything you would want to know.
