I'm not finding 24Vdc at any feeder location?! I checked all pins with the coresponding feeder activated through the I/O and a key in the emergency disconnect. Am I not using the correct procedure to check for my 24V?

solder paste [ top side ] Actually it's kinda the norm in most places. Subjects your active components to one less heat cycle.

Thanks. I will turn off the machine activated cooling and have the part cool down at room temp (no compressed air cooling). Can you recommend a good paste / tacky flux?

It sounds like the QFN component is not solderable. * Use ANSI/J-STD-002, Solderability Tests for Component Leads, Terminations, Lugs, Terminals, and Wires * Contact your QFN component supplier for help * Consider a more active flux, since you might

If the hand soldering is done right and you use little to no extra flux (other than whats in the solder wire) you should be ok. You should still verify with some testing however... You need to make sure any flux used is activated, thus rendered benig

I would have to second the opinion on the water based flux. If you don't want to deal with the solder balls, switch to an alcohol based flux. Unless you have a board that takes a while (water based tends to stay active longer), alcohol is easier to
