This is caused by cte mis-match. The balls in the corners are short and fat. The balls near the null point are tall and more normalized. I don't remember what the zone settings were... BTU VIP98 BS was probably 22-25 IPM

They're full of crap and are simply trying to get you into a Paramax 150. Depending on your product you could probably get by with a VIP-98.

how many zones? And what settings are you using now? And you won't get it exactly like the data sheet, especially the cool down.

Do you really need to have that shape of profile, why not have a gradual ramp then spike? Which paste are you using?

Thank you - The PCB weighs 192.9g and is 314mm x 228mm. Not very densly populated.

Cheers Samir, that was a great help! I've tweaked the settings a bit to suit our PCB and it works well. Thanks again.

You likely will not get 10 years of service out of the Heller and it is certainly not as well built as the VIP-98. If those things do not matter to you and it's all about the money then you sound like the perfect Heller customer.

Check your battery back up if you have it. If I remember correctly, you may have to manually switch your wiring to by pass a dead battery back-up.
