We are going to try double sided reflow for the first time. Can we use the same 63/37 paste on both sides? The board also has bare copper pads i'm pretty sure. will this present any challenges? The bottom side has a QFP on it. Should it stay on?

Hi toki, First of all it depends on how much the company would like to invest in such a methodology. Second of all, why would you make a line to be single lane - double line one after each other, is that automotive / medical standard, not to handle

Hi mates, Yes, the lighter mass is a valid reasoning. in addition to the "lighter (mass) than thou" point of view, 1) the first reason for mounting active Parts (eg. IC, QFP, LGA...) is to minimize the temperature exposure of the Parts to a single

Product Changeover (SMT double sided)

You could start by putting together a matrix of P/N's vs product. This will tell you which parts are common with most of your jobs. These would then become part of a fixed feeder setup that would stay on the machine. (These will probably be mostly R'

FR4 vs Polymide

Does the temp. profiles used to reflow double sided pcb's through a IR oven on FR4 board material have to be re-established if it is changed to polyimide? Boards will be baked out prior to assembly. any response would be most appreciated.
