"When we solving a problem we have to be absolutely sure it's really solved." Conversely, it's always good to return things back to the way they were when you conclude that THAT knob turn didn't solve the problem.

May be you right, but I spend a lot of time on Technet (a similar site maintained by IPC) and people who posted questions usually come back saying whether the problem has been solved, as someone else may face a similar problem down the road. I think
