McMaster.com has ceramic fiber insulation in ribbon form, p/n 87575K89. you might check this up. It is use for high temp insulation, like in furnace. Come in different thickness, width, etc...

Make sure your RS232 is screwed in and not loose. Verify your PC is not hanging up and locking up the com port (windows can really suck some times). I would scan-disk and defrag. I bet its not a furnace problem, but a PC problem.

How can manufacturers effectively monitor and address this issue to maintain Reflow N2 PPM stability? 2 player games (e.g. poorly sealed furnace, air leaks, improper nitrogen supply, etc.)

I agree with Russ. The problem is your thermal isolation is so small 1/16 inch. Also, most ovens measure temperaure in the plenum. You don't solder in the plenum. Therefore, you have a intermidiate "zone" temp. mixing between the top and bottom
