Mark, This is a big topic. Where are you located, it would probably be best to hook you up with someone in your area. Anyhow, lead or lead free should be based on whether the circuits are lead or lead free. I would guess that cell phones would all

Hot air knif in wave soldering

Hello, I need some users information about "Air knif" in wave soldering: 1. Does it decreases bridging ? 2. Is it self installed of a purchesed kit (if purchesed, who are the recomended vendors) ? 3. Any other information about the issue.

solder balls

OK, without knowing the specifics, why does everyone blame the oven? Most solder balls occur around R's and C's in almost every shop I've been to. The best place to start looking is the screen printer - not the oven. Sure the oven is the last proc

Simply ask your board manufacturer to Hot Air Solder Level the boards. HASL is a very common procatice at all board houses. Should not add cost and now your board meets this spec before you even touch it.

Most robust wave soldering machines will cope with lead free alloys. The temperatures in air that we have run has been between 260-265C. In my opinion the dross generation has not been significantly effected. I was doing a workshop for a well known

Key Issue: Will this machine solder your boards? You never know until you solder one. Any other avenues of analysis involve substantial risk. Flux Selection * High or low solids * VOC or VOC-free Solder Alloy * If using lead-free, avoid stainles

| Hello all, | | Been doing some comparisons on joints made using the soldering iron versus reflowed solder paste (on a QFP package). The difference is quite significant: the joints made by the soldering iron are inconsistent and in many cases not
