Re: Solder Connection Environmental Screening

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 24 13:51:24 EDT 2000 | Dr. Ning-Cheng Lee

Low temperature aggravates the mismatch in thermal expansion between solder and parts and between components and boards, therefore can induce earlier failure. The low temperature screening test should not be as effective when used on soft solders su

Low-temperature, lead-free solders

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 19 18:21:56 EDT 1999 | Joseph Holmes

Do solders exist that are both lead-free and low-temperature (e.g. 100-170 Celsius range)? If so, who supplies these materials? Any websites or contact information would be most helpful. Also, I am not an expert on soldering, so any good website

why two high melting temperature metals are getting melt earlier or mean at very low temperature after mixing. Ex :- Tin (sn) - 231 C melting point lead (pb) - 327 C melting point But Sn/Pb - 63/37 melting temperature is 183 C

MSL | Baking components after expired floor life

Electronics Forum | Sat Sep 10 17:12:18 EDT 2022 | yannick_herzog

Hello, we use an oven to dry our MSL components after the floor lifes expires. The oven works at 40°C / 0.1% RH. The plan is to upgrade the oven from 40°C to 60°C to shorten the duration of the process. I have found a number of articles mentioning

Solder Connection Environmental Screening

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 23 09:05:38 EDT 2000 | Dave F

Dr. Lee: In using environmental screening tests to assess solder joint reliability, what are the effects that make low temperature vibration effective in screening of poorly wetted solder connections? What temperature and vibration profile are effe

Looking For an Environmental Lab!

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 14 16:38:13 EDT 2005 | sleech

Our present lab went "South." We need a lab that can do temperature/humidity conditioing, convection oven baking, C-Mode Scanning Acoustical Microscopic package inspection and "No-Pb" reflow simulation. We are evaluating a low temperature package dry

Solder paste Thawing

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 13 09:54:45 EST 2006 | TZ

Why not use microwave oven, it would be faster ? Be careful, rheology and all paste's characteristics are strongly dependent from the "not stressing" reaction moving from low temperature to Room Temperature. Best regards TZ

Nerdyboy don't write no blanking program. Get two extra carriers of the same size and configuration as the low temperature carrier that you want bake at a higher temperature. One of the these extra carriers needs to be high temperature material that
