7mils/inch is 0.7% and the IPC-A-610 calls for 0.75% (for SMT), so both are approx. the same. So there are no two methods in what you described. The 7mil/inch is also a percentage. Regards Vinit

Hi MSK, Stencil thickness: 5mils with laser cut Smallest pitch: 20mils Underscreen cleaning frequency: 10 bds per cleaning Note: We have decreased the cleaning frequency from 10 boards to 3 bds to reduce solder bridging after printing Regards,

Stencil thickness is related to PCB design and is not related to paste type. If you release with a 8 mil stencil then use an 8 mil stencil. Of course there are pastes that release bteer than other and what not but use area and aspect ratios to dete

Make sure you have the 1 mil & 4 mil cameras so you can cover virtually any component.

0.2mm gap between parts is small and easy to solder short. I prefer 5mils or 4mils.

Go 5 or 6 mil thick with stencil, i am not familiar with that pitch but I would recoomnd a 5mil. Was the thickness in this post before and i missed it? Russ

Never changed anytihgn when we switched to Immersion silver. Have run approximatelky 10,000 16mil pitch devices to date with immersion Silver PCB, stainless, chempolished 5 mil stencil, and pbfree paste (OM338). Russ

mid chip solder balls we had that trouble for awhile we went from a 8 mil thick stencil to 6 mil stencil and did some home plate style of cut outs in the stencil for the 1206 caps and resistors it seemed to fix our mid chip solder balls

I have used a 10% area reduction with home plates on 6 mil stencils with good success. If you're using 5 mil stencils you might go with 0 or 5% reduction.

Good morning, 5mil stencil or less would be appropriate. We deal with 0402's daily and 5mil works. BR, Pavel
