Paste printing, acceptable tolerance ?

Electronics Forum | Thu May 25 18:32:12 EDT 2006 | pms

Having an issue with our paste inspector (human type). Were printing paste on .5mm pitch pads (MLF package). My question is - What is the acceptable print deviation (percentage) off the pad before you see problems after reflow? 0%? 1%? 10%? 25%?

Paste printing, acceptable tolerance ?

Do a dirty DoE...print ten boards with the worst error you think you can accept, build them up, and count print related defects. At the same time, print ten spot-on and proceed the same. If you don't have any more defects on the off-print batch show

stencil to pcb manufacturing tolerance

Answer on point 2 - I understand you send him gerbers of single PCB (?). In most cases you have panelized PCBs so to avoid problems with stencil first you should order PCBs and ASK your PCB supplier to send you back his gerbers of panel. There are so

How to define solder paste printing height tolerance

Electronics Forum | Mon May 07 16:07:05 EDT 2012 | davef

Start with targets based on the stencil thickness (for height) and stencil thickness times the aperture size (for volume). * Set reasonable upper and lower control limits (+ 25% and –25 % of the targets, for example). * Next, check the printer set-u

alignment requirements for 0.5mm pitch

I have no opinion on the accuracy and repeatability tolerances you should be looking for on the vision system and the actual alignment of the stencil. I expect Cp=2 from my printer.

I am curreently in my final year of my HNC Mechatronics course. In the project section I am reviewing several screen printers for their suitability to run a new product containing 0.5mm pitch components. I would be interested in anyones opinion in

Fine pitch paste release problems.

Hi: Your stencil specs are good; Did you check the stencil thickness? It would be worth a ck since there may be an error from the stencil mfr If the paste is not releasing with good stencil specs, these are possible causes: 1 The paste isn't tou

Quad IV-c feeder error

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 01 18:23:30 EST 2019 | slthomas

Is it indexing at the correct pitch when you push the forward button? I really can't remember much about those machines but it seems like that's an indication that it's not programmed correctly. I'll be bobpan knows, regardless. ;)

Quad IV-c feeder error

Electronics Forum | Sat Feb 02 04:48:30 EST 2019 | dfl

yes it's moving at the wrong pitch, about 3 components a time. Is the programming you talking about at the microcontroller AT85C55 or that serial memory 24C04? Or there is some procedure on the Quad to adjust this?
