Chinese Counterfeit?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 13 08:38:48 EDT 2005 | jh0n!

bbs.smthome.net Compare the amount of activity between the two. It's a shame, I think, that there's not a comparable forum in English.

Chinese Counterfeit?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 13 09:27:06 EDT 2005 | ??

Wow, there is alot of activity on that website.....so.....that leads to 1 of 2 conclusions........either...the american's/europeans know what they are doing....or....all the manufacturing is being done in China.

Tombstone caused by flux residue

how fast are you ramping your profile..and how long are you soaking it.. are you giving enough time for the flux to get activated...

Flux activity with SAC305

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 28 08:12:38 EDT 2005 | jh0n!

That's pretty much what I figured - just wanted some external verification if possible. And don't so much as BREATHE that around here. I'm just waiting for engineering's *next* bright idea. ;)

Flux activity with SAC305

On chips, none - 1:1. Those are 1206 chips, either .010 or .015" between them. I've never seen one bridge. Some *rare* billboarding. That's it. *shrug* These QFNs, tho....

Vertical fill solder

if the problem is wetting change the flux type. have you tried adjusting the temperature of the wave? if your getting 100% wetting id decrease the wave temperature, or try a flux that is less active.

reflow exit problem

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 10 06:54:03 EDT 2005 | ajay

we do have staker whick can stak 30 boards automatically. As sson as it get segnal / sencor activeated one stak up & up to 30. after 30 it will give buzzer if boards are not remobed on time

Same wave process do not apply to all finish board

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 17 08:16:03 EDT 2005 | lyrtech

Thanks Patrick. I understand your points. It gives us good results. I didn't know about the flux activity on Gold finish. It's a pleasure to get this kind of explanantion.

AIM, KESTER, OR INDIUM PASTE PREFERRED?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 30 14:18:14 EDT 2006 | jdumont

We had been using the Kester Easy profile 256 paste and recently switched to the 256 HA (high activity) paste. Ive seen a reduction in shorts and better wetting on our more difficult to solder components. Both related to one another but both positive

Encapsulating water soluble flux residue?

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 16 10:25:37 EST 2005 | solderiron

Rather than cleaning a water soluble flux residue off the board, by encapsulating the product. covering the board or the component with lets say a Hysol encasulant. Would this prevent the active flux residue from migrating and deteriorating the elect
