| I am trying to find out if it is possible to wavesolder TSOP's. If so , what should the footprint be like, and how should the wavesolder process be set up ? | Alternatively can PLCC's be wavesoldered ? | I would greatly appreciate any help. | Rega

Are you working for an OEM? If so see if you can get your engineering department to change their "zero orientation" for the packages. At one place I believe the CAD department called them "G codes". What was really bad there was that one shape had

you don't need different placement angles, not if you write the PD's properly, generate your programs from a source program and use the optimiser to split the progs up. so in theory the cad data can work although in practice it rarely does due to di

Larry: I'd like to see your angle increased generally and that could fix your problem. Lots of other things can cause skips, such as: * Wave height, your might be high with 2" of contact * Flux contamination, activity * Component contamination * C

Bottom side process question

Dont be afraid of the more standard doubles sided mixed process. Even without a chip wave it works, dont get me wrong it works better with the chip wave, but even without chances are you will be spending more on the additional steps than you would

| A rash of new products here at my company have designs with multi-pin connectors 90 out-of-phase (orientation)wiht respect to wave direction, which has lead to massive bridging (shorts) problems.... | | Does anyone still use the 45 Degree Pallet

Is this board going across wave? If not, you are pretty safe to lose the glue process. If it does go across wave you can probably lose the solderpaste and replace your solder stencil with a glue stencil, much faster and efficient than dispensing.

Dilbert is correct. The CS-400E machine is the machine of choice. The component insertions are light guided, the components are automatically presented to the operator and the leads are automatically cut and clinched at programmable lead length and

Oh dear, I tried not to respond but i couldn't help myself. Stop me if I go off into the woods. My guess, Chris, based on your fleeting reference to GF files, is that your SMT machines are Siemens Siplace. If this is so then package orientation def
