Another issue is that once solder paste has been reflowed, the majority of the flux is gone. If it is reflowed again without solder flux, the risk of introducing oxidation to the component leads is increased, thus creating a weak solder joint.

Another consideration is that heat damage is accumulative. If you have temperature sensitive components, that third reflow may be bringing them close to their failure point.

Have you done any analysis on the failed rework? There could be any one of several reasons, i.e. bad alignment, wrong reflow profile, bad pad plating, etc. More information will help us help you.

Does any body know if there are any legitimate health or safety reason's to vent solder fumes, at both reflow and hand soldering work stations? Personally I don't like to have the fumes in my face, but I don't know if it causes a health risk. Thanks
