IPA versus Stencil Cleaning Solution

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 14 09:34:25 EDT 2017 | cyber_wolf

In my experience there is no need for wet wiping stencils. We run 0201'and micro BGA's daily with no issues. If you are having paste release issues, I would be looking at other things. Aperture area aspect ratio, aperture design, land design, sold

Missprinting cleaning

Electronics Forum | Wed May 23 15:11:21 EDT 2018 | jacobidiego

Hi experts, I asked our chinese board manufacturer about their recommended procedure to clean miss-printing. The answer was that they use Absolut Alcohol while use IPA currently and we are moving to a water based cleaning agent with ultrasound. Th

Samsung/Hanwha Maintenance - Which Grease?

it is not that big deal. you can use almost any generic grease. I use SKF bearing grease on CP45FV's. Just make sure you remove old grease, I use IPA and compressed air to do this. And don't put too much of it or too little. After greasing everything

Through hole pins not soldering

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 23 00:06:34 EDT 2020 | SMTA-64387098

I have modules that come with a 4 x 2 pin header. The problem is the pins must be oxidized as they do not take solder (no wetting occurring). This occurs whether solder in our wave soldering machine or soldered by hand. I tried cleaning the module i

What are some common problems and irritations you run into when cleaning your stencils, PCB's, or anything for that matter???

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 04 17:44:20 EDT 2021 | dwl

The hardest part was convincing management of the need for a stencil cleaner in the first place. Cleaning by hand using IPA and a lint free cloth just leads to clogged apertures and print defects. BTW, lint free cloths leave behind a lot of lint.

saturation occurs at ppm levels. Remember, IPA is extremely flammable and its bulk use makes the plant liable to all sorts of quite repressive safety rules/regulations and so on. Ignoring these rules exposes the owner to fines and possible plant cl

Cleaning after rework, no clean flux

Grant, No-Clean paste + IPA = White Residue! #1: Stop using IPA #2: Switch to either a solvent-based de-fluxing chemical or an aqueous-based de-fluxing chemical. If you are using an ultrasonic cleaner for your boards as stated, do not use sapon

Soldering fumes

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 20 15:55:59 EST 2001 | CAL

I only inhale flux with a high IPA content.(joke for those who don't know me) I have seen the inside of duct work for our wave soldering machine............NASTY! DAVE F. is right! Flux contains a lot of bad stuff- Chlorides, Bromides, Flourides,
