Hi I see David F already gave a good answer. The basic advantage, if you can afford it, is a more stable PCB during the soldering process. Higher Tg enables this. Also some materials serve to match CTEs (coefficient of thermal expansion) a bit bett

James, Have you considered going to a No-clean process? BGA's can be difficult to impossible to clean using an aqueous process. The water just won't penetrate under the entire BGA and efficiantly remove your flux residues. The tighter the pitch

Your customer's question is reasonable. Soldering to nickel is not always a walk on the beach [can of corn, or whatever]. This issue is flux not solder. Your Sn63 will have plenty of strength, providing the solder connection is well formed. You s

Haaaa!!!! Yes, weve seen things like that. We found that a high input impedance amplifier worked fine in a room with a controlled environment and worked poorly in the sweat-shop portion of our plant. We were using good ol WS609, straight water w

I faced problem over connecter's pin that were hot air soldered. This connector has 168 pins ( similar to the straddle connector ). The process is to apply the flux onto the connector's J-leads, and the hot air pencil were then ran thru' the leads to

Good points Ken But the reality of the matter is that we are selling off some fuji equipment that even though it is 1994/1995 still has a sale value of 45-65K Each. I am replacing it with faster systems with 0201 specs. With the margins so razor thin

Sorry for the long delay in response.. As it turns out, the float switch on our transfer station was gummed up (probably by the defoamer residue) and allowed the transfer station to get behind (backing up the gravitational flow of the wash system).

Hi: I have seen this problem before. It is caused by improper curing of solder mask by the fab manufacturer. When you run the board thru' wave solder, and then wash the board, you see the problem of white residue. However, when you apply heat, you c
