Hi, also you can check the board design. If always the sme pins are not soldered, a via could be close to the pin and take part of the solder in. Regards, Emil

Hi We are designing a new pcb which contains sensitive analogue circuitry, where tiny leakage currents could dramatically affect product performance. Should I build this product Clean or a No-clean chemistry set ? Thanks in advance

i'd like to have design information about how to produce membrane switches using the screenprinting process (making silver traces, buying /placing domes) Who knows where to find information? (we normally only produce the artwork)

Ditto here, also. This is generally referred to as cratering, and is associated with stress on boards from operations such as ICT, installation of compliant pin connectors, and depanelization. It is more common on PCBs designed for Lead-free proc

10x16 by 5 mil stencil gives me a area ratio of .615 unless I am calculating incorrectly. I will try and attach some images tomorrow. By reducing the Y direction my area ratio s below .6 and I thought this was not advisable. Your help is muc appreci

Ray, 10x16 should give you .62 area ratio, Theoretical Solder Volume=800. You should increase the width and the length to get better solder release.

Yes, courtyard gives you the space requirement of a component. Sometimes, the working space of a rework tool takes precidence, though.

We had the same issue with the INA121's a while back if im not mistaken... i believe the design was changed do to other reasons with that part and the prob went away.

You want to make it from scratch? Design the circuit, do the layout, and make the PCB, then populate it? You can't make the raw boards at home. What are you studing at uni?

If you don't want the headache of etching a board you can design online and order a board for a couple bucks. The place I used had free software......www.PCB123.com
